fall semester is going well. its hard to believe that its almost over. physics has been tough, but i’ve learned a lot. vector calculus is actually pretty cool. hey, i’m an engineer, what’d you expect me to say? its amazing to me that we have the ability to calculate volumes and surface areas and distances in such an abbreviated way. integrals really do work!
i’ve spent much time on halo 2 over the past two weeks. i’ve been anticipating this release for months. bungie did such a good job creating halo that i honestly doubted whether or not halo 2 would live up to the hype. i have to say that they delivered, the first release pales in comparison. new storyline, new weapons, new music, the ability to carry two guns… its awesome! i’m not interested in the first one anymore. i haven’t yet completed the campaign, but i believe that i’m close. last night steve & i logged into xbox live for the first time and went head to head against the world. most of the time we both got stomped, but we did get to participate in a couple of beautiful slaughters.
my struggles with adware and spyware continued long after my last post, leading up to me reinstalling my operating system and upgrading winxp to service pack 2. the only thing i can say is that when you’re surfing the web, don’t allow anything to get pushed to your system, period. and get service pack 2! i’ve heard that switching browsers to firefox is also a good choice, because most ad/spyware applets are written for internet explorer, but i haven’t tried it yet. its also supposed to be faster than ie.
i’ve seen two great movies this semester. i didn’t plan to see napoleon dynamite because i thought it looked really dumb. brandon dragged me to it, saying it was funny. man, i haven’t laughed that hard in years. its been a full two months since i saw it, and i’m still quoting it. heck yes i am! and, i’ve been looking forward to seeing the incredibles since i saw the trailer at finding nemo. it is my favorite recent movie, by far. think of it as a cartoon version of james bond, where the gadgets are even more cool than his. i plan to see it at least once more while its in the theaters.
natasha is gone. after several months of arguing and heartache, we parted. and so it shall be forevermore. goodbye natasha.
