This site is a place for me to work through and share my own thoughts. I have used AI in some ways, but the ideas and writing are my own. Here’s a quick rundown of how I’m using AI.
Code
Websites are… code. This site is created with Hugo, and I used AI to help with website configuration and theme customizations. Some of the features, such as search, were easy to implement because of AI. And when something goes wrong, I start by looking for error messages that I can share with AI.
In the cases where I’m sharing analysis, code or charts, AI likely helped me create those.
Writing
All of the content written before 2025 was written 100% by me and has not been edited since.
For the more recent content, I use AI in the following ways:
- ideas: Sometimes I share a random thought then ask an AI agent to ask me questions to expound on that. I use this to help frame my own ideas or come to a position worth sharing.
- research: I sometimes look for supporting material for an article or to see what else has already been shared on a given subject.
- editing: As I write I will ask an agent if my arguments are coherent, to comment on my writing quality, or if my thoughts are too thin. The writing is still mine, I use AI to ensure that what I’m saying is clear.
- spelling: The content of this site is written in markdown (text) files. If AI points out a spelling error, I fix it.
Not Writing
I do not ask agents to generate an article or post. I am not writing this website for traffic and I’m not tracking visitors. I am not publishing AI slop here. Also, I want for the content here to be in my own voice, so if AI offers grammar fixes I usually ignore them. :)
Images
I don’t currently have any AI-generated images on the site, though that may change at some point.
