A couple of weeks ago I went skiing on Lake Austin, and I got lake water in my ear. My body spent the next couple of days convincing me that was a bad idea. I couldn’t breathe, I was dizzy all the time, and I had trouble sleeping. But, it did pass, so I figured it was no big deal.
One week later, feeling fine, I went swimming (to practice my breathing) at a pool, and again I got water in my ear. That was one week ago today, and I’m still paying the price. All week long I’ve been stuffed up, I’ve had to carry kleenex with me everywhere I go, and I have had difficulty sleeping. I think I got maybe 10 or 12 hours of sleep total this week. Blech!
Finally yesterday I was so tired that I had difficulty focusing on my school work. So last night I slept a full 10 hours. I feel much better this morning, I can already tell that my head is more clear. And, I’m not as tired as I have been for the past few days.
I don’t know what it is exactly that I have, or what’s wrong with me. It feels like a head cold, but I think its more likely that its allergies or maybe a mild form of sinus infection. Whatever it is, I’m done with it, and ready to beat this thing.
I’m hoping for another full night’s rest this evening, so that by Monday morning I can start the week with a clear head and full of energy.
When I was a kid being sick was fun because I got to stay home from school and my Mom would always get me coloring books, and I got to drink lots of 7-Up (one of life’s mystery cures). Now, I still have to go to school, and my Mom doesn’t buy me coloring books anymore. Its just not as much fun. I don’t want to be sick anymore.
