PALE-BLUE-DOT Astronomers:

Although Ptolemy thought the Sun revolved around the Earth, he also concluded that the Earth should be treated as a mathematical point in the Universe. Now, since a mathematical point is infinitely smaller than a "pale blue dot," do we conclude that Ptolemy must be humbler, wiser, and "cooler" than modern astronomers? Well, maybe I'm being nasty and objective, when I should be misty-eyed and subjective. I might be a candidate for sensitivity training.

Unlike Pale-Blue-Dot astronomers, I don't try to feel-the-pain of the robbed (nor do I try to feel-the-pleasure of the robbers). To pretend to know the pain of others is to belittle the pain of others.

From a comfortable armchair or a speaker's podium, all human trials (pains, pleasures, joys, loves, ete.) can only be reduced to a "pale blue dot" by exceptional Pride - not insightful thinking. Trying to synthesize people with their planet is called Pantheism - not Astronomy.

Best Regards,

I just put together a similar setup except we have an hdhomerun dual tuner streaming the live tv anywhere over the network. I can't beleive that I was able to switch between any of the NCAA tourney games with ease this weekend... and tada - No Cable bill!

John Weyland has already proved it works with the White Zombie now add the self -charging wind generator on the roof and the alternators on the wheels to extend the life of the batteries. I have a 1980 Cadillac Seville I would love to have a clear solar coat of paint to energize the batteries with solar power as well as you can see it's not feasible to be sitting waiting on a batch of batteries when all the cars have alternators now that keep the batteries going for 3-5 years! Of course the ones on the moon last 10 years!

Chris - it's been SO cool to see you embrace this crazy triathlon thing...and now a trail race, too! Win or lose the competition, it's clear you've already gained a lot of really amazing "prizes"...but it's not over yet...not by a long shot! See you out there at the Austin Tri...try not to plow me over as you go past me! ~ etg
